A product of Thomson Reuters, Aureka is an analysis tool, or “advanced IP management and analysis platform.” Aureka provides a number of statistical analysis features and enables collaboration between employees within a company on IP analysis projects.

Recent Updates

December 2012 - According to a Thomson Reuters representative, the CPC will not be implemented in MicroPatent, Delphion, and Aureka.[1]

Features

Special features within the tool include:

  • Themescape mapping" - a topographical map-style output which shows groups of documents as related by a number of factors, including keyword analysis. The highest peaks on the map represent the largest collections of documents that share common keywords, which in turn should theoretically represent a group of documents discussing the same technical concepts.
  • Citation trees - interactive “trees” which display forward and backward citations in an interactive format.
  • Document annotation - the ability to annotate documents saved in the system with user-defined “proprietary” tags.
  • In-system messaging - to promote collaboration with other users within the organization.
