BioAlma specialized in information extraction, and this technology was the basis for its AKS2 and novo|seek products. The company created biomedical dictionaries through extraction and in-context analysis. They then used these dictionaries to create a relational database, and offered the novo|seek tool for searching biomedical literature using these terms, and the AKS2 for analyzing resulting datasets.[1] As of November 2012, this tool no longer appears to be available.
