ChemBioFinder.com is an online platform for accessing subscription-based chemistry and biology databases from CambridgeSoft from PerkinElmer (creator of ChemBioDraw). ChemBioFinder.com was previously known as ChemFinder.com, but the site was renamed and redesigned. Through ChemBioFinder.com, users can conduct a quick search (a keyword search form that accepts chemical name, CAS Registry number, molecular formula, or molecular weight). Users can also search by structure or substructure through a free ChemDraw plug-in. Finally, the Structure/Advanced Search form also allows users to search by Chemical Identifiers (Name/Synonym, Registry ID, InChIKey), Chemical Properties (Molecular Weight or Molecular Formula) or limit by source databases. The resulting chemical profiles accessible through the search results include:
The name, molecular formula and weight, CAS Registry Number, SMILES and InChI and InChIKey strings for each located compound, and lists the databases which contain entries for the located compound(s). The InChIKey also serves as a hyperlink to corresponding entries in ChemSpider.
Databases indexed in ChemBioFinder include:
- Reference Databases
- The Merck Index
- R&D Insight/Chemists
- ChemINDEX Database
- NCI, AIDS & Cancer
- Ashgate Drugs: Synonyms & Properties
- Nanogen Index
- Martindale for Scientists
- Pharmaceutical Excipients
- Sourcing Databases
- Sigma Aldrich MSDS
- Reaction Databases
- Encyclopedia of Reagents for Organic Synthesis
Non-registered users get five free searches before they must register for a CambridgeSoft from PerkinElmer user account, which is free to create. Registered users can search ChemBioFinder.com for free and view the general chemical profile through the search results, but database-specific chemical profiles linked through the general profile are only accessible to subscribing users. Users can purchase annual subscriptions to view all the content for a particular database.
