The epoline website is the portal to EPO Online Services, a gateway to online services and information provided by the European Patent Office. For patent searchers, the most relevant portion of the site is the gateway to the European Patent Office’s legal register service, called Register Plus, where users check legal status data of EP applications. Register Plus is updated daily with legal status changes, as opposed to the INPADOC legal status data file which is updated on a weekly basis.

In addition to Register Plus, the epoline portal also offers users access to the EPO's Schedule of Fees, and to weekly downloads of EBD data, which contains bibliographic details about new and changed European Patent Office applications and patents.

The service is analogous to the USPTO’s PAIR (Patent Application Information Retrieval) system, where users can check the status of pending applications and find images of patent file wrappers and the history of the patent prosecution.
