PatentAtlas was a patent analysis tool for US patents and published applications, created by the California-based IPB Corporation in 2007. IPB Corporation partnered with IFI Patent Intelligence (part of Wolters Kluwer Health) to provide access to "IFI-Enhanced US patent data" through PatentAtlas. The PatentAtlas tool no longer seems to be available, since the links listed on press releases for PatentAtlas no longer work.
According to a 2007 press release, users could search PatentAtlas by patent number, application number, or technology description, and PatentAtlas would scan "more than six million patents and published applications from the IFI CLAIMS® database to find the 3,000 most similar in their usage of significant keywords." Users could then view visualizations in "graphical and tabular format under groupings such as assignee, technology field, and keyword usage." Specific examples of these visualizations include:
- Aging graph - Where on the technology life cycle the comparable patents are located.
- Information in tabular format on the 300 most closely related patent documents.
