Introduction
The Text frame displays the document in text form. This is the text of the document that can be text searched, copy and pasted, highlighted, etc. The Text frame can display either the Full Text of the document, or the user may choose from a variety of options to view only specific parts of the text, such as Keywords In Context (KWIC). The user can choose between Full and these other options in a drop-down menu at the bottom of the Text frame. Available options include:
- FULL – Displays the document text in its entirety
- FRO – Displays text on the front page of the patent document only
- CIT – Displays citation information only
- REV – Displays summarized information meant for quick review: Inventor, Classification, number of claims, number of drawings, Exemplary Claim Number, number of drawing sheets
- CLS – Displays classification information only
- DATE – Displays application date as well priority and continuity dates
- REF – Displays reference information only
- TI – Displays document title only
- CLM – Displays claims only
- KWIC – Displays Keywords In Context only
- CIT+Abstract+Claims – Displays citation information, with the abstract and claims
- CIT+Abstract+KWIC – Displays citation info, abstract, and Keywords In Context
- DT+KWIC – Displays date information and Keywords In Context
- FRO+Claims – Displays front page text and claims
- CIT+Abstract+DT+KWIC – Displays citation info, abstract, date, and KWIC
- FRO+KWIC – Displays front page text and Keywords In Context
For USPAT and US-PGPUB databases, an additional SEQ (Sequence) section is available. There is no USPAT data available for this section prior to 2006.
For USOCR, the available selections are FULL, CIT, KWIC, and CIT+KWIC only.
