The PatAnalyst search system has been discontinued by JOUVE. The company is now focused on providing IT services to the EPO and other national patent offices such as services related to publication and patent data management (digitalization, publication, patent procedure management interface).

The European Patent Office Collection

For dates of coverage, please see the Data Coverage Summary section.

It should be noted that PatAnalyst only has coverage of European (EP) patent applications and does not have coverage of the EP-B granted patent documents. To find the first publication of a missing granted publication, users can use the /pnfp field operator.

As a reminder, many EP granted patents originate as PCT applications due to the Euro-PCT Transfer Problem. The European Patent Organization (EPO) does not republish the Patent Cooperation Treaty (WO/PCT) applications as EP applications, causing some EP granted patents to have no corresponding full text EP application. As a result, the full text of many pre-1990 EP applications will be present as their corresponding PCT documents, and can be successfully found in PatAnalyst.

editors note iconEditor's Note:

The lack of EP granted patents is a big absence in coverage compared to PatAnalyst’s competitors, many of which have full text collections for these granted documents.
