Export Functions
Several files in PatAnalyst can be exported:
- document images (PDF format)
- contents of "drawers," or saved results lists(to cross files)
- reports (selected fields for a list of patents, available in PDF, CSV, and RTF file format)
- working lists
- cross files
Cross files are simple text files containing a list of patent document numbers. These files can be imported to another database to further search the data.
Report generation lets users include a list of data fields for all patents in the current working list or of all snapshots in a specified drawer. After choosing the fields included, users can choose between PDF, CSV, and RTF file format before exporting. The process is executed in wizard format and runs as a background task so users can continue to use PatAnalyst without any delay.
Editor's Note:The report feature of PatAnalyst is a nice way to create a quick deliverable document to a client or co-worker. The customizability mixed with the variety of file formats available makes this a value added feature of PatAnalyst.
