Import, Export, and Download Features
Being a relatively minimalist search tool in general, the export and download features present on PatentAnalysis.com are a pleasant surprise. In addition to downloading PDF versions of New Zealand documents, users are also able to export result lists in Microsoft Word or Excel format. It is also possible to send results in an email or to display them in a printer-friendly format.
It is important to note here that if no checkboxes are selected before export then all of the records on the current page are exported, not all of the documents in the entire result set. This applies whether exporting results into Word, Excel, Email, or "Printer Friendly" format.
Downloading PDF Documents
PDF Copies of New Zealand documents may be downloaded by clicking on the red Adobe PDF icon located both in the result listing, as well as the full record view.
Microsoft Word
Results exported to Microsoft Word contain all of the same information displayed in the result list, but formatted within Microsoft Word. The screenshot below depicts an example.
Microsoft Excel
Exported results in Excel format present the data separated into cells and with column headings. The same data is presented as in the result listing, with each field separated in the Excel spreadsheet. The screenshot below shows an example exported Excel file.
PatentAnalysis.com also provides the option to email selected results. To, From, Subject, and (optional) Message fields are presented to be filled out by the user who then clicks 'Send' and the results are sent to the specified email address(es). Multiple email addresses are entered by separating each address with a comma. The screenshot below depicts the results email form.
Printer Friendly
The fourth and final icon in the Export section represents the "Printer Friendly" function. Selecting this function takes the user to a new page which displays the selected results in a cleaned-up format which optimized for printing. The screenshot below what this printer friendly format looks like.
