Weighting and Ranking Features
From within the Preferences screen, users can select to have results sorted by "Confidence". The confidence ranking is a type of relevancy ranking that appears to be based on hit term count.
Also, when performing a Quicksearch, "Confidence" may also be chosen as the sort method. The other two options are "Earliest Patents" or "Latest Patents", sorting the results chronologically by publication date.
Editor's Note:The confidence ranking feature seems to be an experimental feature that users should approach with caution. In other words, "your mileage may vary."
