Viewing Patent Citations
Patent Lens has backwards and forwards patent citation data. For more information on citation definitions please see the article on Citations. However, only the backwards citation field can be searched. For the backwards and forwards citations that have records located in Patent Lens, a link is provided to take the user directly to that record. Non-patent literature citations are present when available on the face of the patent, but do not contain links to a source where they can be found. For more information see the Citation Coverage section.
Editor's Note:The inclusion of forward citations helps the ability of the user to find related art through citations. Google Patent Search, esp@cenet, and FreePatentsOnline are other examples of free patent search systems that have this feature.
