Machine Translations

A 2009 update introduced on-the-fly machine translation features to the QPAT bibliographic and text record views. This service is powered by Google Translate.

The machine translation feature can be initiated on the bibliographic or text view pages by selecting the "Translate this page" hyperlink that appears in the top right corner of the display.

The "Translate this page" icon in the top right corner can be used to create a machine translation powered by Google Translate.

Once selected, this hyperlink will load the Google Translate language selection bars directly onto the page that is to be translated. In the figure below, one of the drop-down menus is selected, showing a range of languages supported by the Google Translate engine.

The hyperlink, once selected, loads the language choice boxes. Google Translate supports an array of various languages.

When the correct start language and desired output languages have been selected, users can click "Translate" to generate an instant machine translation.

This machine translation started as English text, and was converted into simplified Chinese via QPAT's on-the-fly Google Translate tool.
