Basic Text
The two search areas within the Basic Text form are "Named Search" and "Keyword Search".
With Named Search, users can search using a chemical name, SMILES code, InChI code, or InChI key. SureChem users can search the desired portion of the patent documents, including title, abstract, claims, description, or "all." The searches in this area are executed using the standardized chemical controlled vocabulary that underlies the SureChem databases. This area features a help function that automatically brings up clarification of this search area when users hover the cursor over the adjacent question marks.
Keyword Search is a generic text searching function that can search in the following fields:
- all fields
- title
- abstract
- claims
- description
- patent number
- assignee
- inventor
- date
- IPC code
- foreign priority code, date, and country
Unlike the Advanced Text search form, no database specific fields can be searched from the Keyword Search area of the Chemical search form.
