Major Recent Updates

See the Intellogist update policies for more information.

January 2012

The web address for Surf-IP, including the lists of IP Databases and IP Search Tools, doesn't appear to be accessible. The error message that appears in place of the site lists a "Technical Problem" with accessing the site.

October 2011

A list of IP Databases and a list of IP Search Tools are now available at the web address that previously hosted Surf-IP.

The web address for Surf-IP is no longer accessible.

September 2011

The following announcement was displayed on the Surf-IP website beginning on September 23, 2011:[1]

The announcement on the Surf-IP homepage announcing the shutdown of the search platform.

The announcement states that the Surf-IP search platform will no longer be available after September 30, 2011, and "the webpages of IP offices where you can continue to conduct IP searches will be posted on a webpage after SurfIP ceases operation."[1]

June

This system has been updated since our last review. During our next scheduled update, this article will be revised to include a description of the newly added content and features.

A completely overhauled beta version of Surf IP was introduced for testing in 2010. This version appears to have many similarities to the IPEXL search engine.

2006

Surf IP does not provide a section describing updates to the site. Additional database coverage was added sometime after the first quarter of 2006, including data from the Japan Patent Office (JPO), Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UK-IPO), Thailand Intellectual Property Information Center (TIPIC), and US published applications.
