Discussion of Collaboration Tools
While VantagePoint does not have any specific collaboration tools, each VantagePoint file (.vpt) can be copied and sent to other VantagePoint users, who may then manipulate the data further. This, in essence, allows co-workers, customers, and so forth, to collaborate with one another. The downside to this is there is no built in ability to track who made changes to the data or to store previous versions in a single file.
Editor's Note:One disadvantage of the VantagePoint system is that it does not offer online collaboration tools. Web collaboration, rather than collaboration via a hard data file (such as the .vpt file), is common on other analysis systems and allows for easy sharing of data.
