Online Help Features
WIPS includes some help coverage directly on the site such as a table of data coverage, update notices, available search operators, and frequently asked questions. There is also a PDF Help Manual discussing in detail the main features of the system. The PDF is searchable but there are no bookmarks or links throughout the manual. The help manual was last updated in 2006, although the link to the manual states that it will be updated continuously. Some recent information, like the switch over to PDF format for all images on WIPS Global, is not mentioned in the help manual.
Editor's Note:The online help information is poorly organized and provides sporadic information at best. The PDF help manual is much better organized and contains the most helpful information; however, a lack of bookmarks or links throughout the document makes navigating the document clumsy and time-consuming. The most up-to-date changes are only mentioned on the website under the "Notice" section, while the information in the manual is sometimes outdated (due to the last update being in 2006).
