The European Patent Office Collection
Full text EP published applications (A documents) are provided from December 20, 1978 to date. In addition to full text, WIPS includes the full document image, INPADOC legal status, representative drawings, and standardized applicant’s name and code (created for internal use by WIPS for applicants who have applied for more than 200 patents in the US and only provided for patents in English (US, EU, PACT, PAJ)).[1]
A collection of full text granted EP patents (B kind codes) is provided from January 09, 1980. In addition to full text, WIPS includes the full document image, the divisional application, the EP-A document abstract, references cited, INPADOC legal status, representative drawings, and standardized applicant’s name and code (created for internal use by WIPS for applicants who have applied for more than 200 patents in the US and only provided for patents in English (US, EU, PACT, PAJ)).[1]
Editor's Note:Users should be aware of the Euro-PCT transfer problem (published PCTs that are transferred to the EPO are not republished as EP applications, therefore searching only full text EP documents can miss many published applications) and need to search EP and WO databases together for a true EP search.
